McAlester Recycling Center

The McAlester Recycling Center will be moving to a new location at 301 E. Polk Avenue (former National Guard Armory).  The old site at Carl Albert Parkway and Main Street will be closed beginning Friday, January 12 with a temporary collection site opened at 301 E. Polk Avenue on Friday January 12.

The drop-off facility is anticipated to be operational by January 17, 2018.  The temporary site at 301 E. Polk Avenue will operate until construction is complete.

We ask for the public's patience while the site is under construction.

Letter of Notice

Located at South Main Street & Choctaw Avenue (The north end of the Farmer's Market Parking Lot). After January 1, 2018 will be relocated to old Armory building 3rd and Polk.

#1 Plastics - (with a neck or handle)
#2 Plastics

As a rule of thumb #1's are items like soda or water bottles. #2's are items like shampoo, laundry detergent and Milk containers. On the bottom of the plastic containers you will see a symbol similar to the one above which will have a number in the middle, this is a sure way of determining whether it is a #1 or #2 plastic.

We will not accept #3 and up at this time.

Newspaper - must be free of containments and no wet paper.
Corrugated cardboard - must be free of contaminants, no pizza boxes and all cardboard boxes must be broken down when possible so that they lay flat.
