Spirit AeroSystems
Spirit AeroSystems is one of the world's largest tier-one aerostructure manufacturers for commercial and military aircraft. Spirit operates one of its eleven worldwide facilities in McAlester and has designated the local plant as a Center of Excellence for 3 and 4-axis machining. Before Spirit, Rockwell International and Boeing operated in McAlester.

Choctaw Defense Services is owned and operated by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and is a defense subcontractor for the US Armed Forces, Raytheon, Boeing, and Lockheed Martin. Choctaw Defense creates a wide range of military-grade products and also produces several calibers of small arms ammunition for Fiocchi of America.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is one of nine national participants in the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Integration Pilot Program (IPP) with the purpose of safety testing and validating advanced aerial operations. The Choctaw Nation has partnered with several UAS companies, including Bell Textron, to test new UAS innovations and systems.
