City announces Annual Stars & Stripes Fireworks Show at the Southeast Expo Center

The City of McAlester is thrilled to announce its annual Stars & Stripes Fireworks Show, set to illuminate the skies above the Southeast Expo Center on Thursday, July 4, 2024. This highly anticipated annual event promises to be a spectacular celebration of patriotism and community spirit.
This year’s show will be handled by Rainbow Fireworks, a full-service professional fireworks display company based in Kansas, and operates within six different states. Rainbow Fireworks has been the licensed contractor and performed the McAlester show for the past three years.
“Rainbow Fireworks has provided us with a consistent and exciting show over the past several years,” said McAlester Tourism Manager Billy Sumner. “They have been easy to work with and are passionate about providing a quality and affordable show that impresses our community.”
The annual Stars & Stripes Fireworks Show is made possible through funding from the City of McAlester combined with the generous support and sponsorship of The First National Bank and Trust Company of McAlester, Sam Wampler Freedom Ford of McAlester & Eufaula, District 3 County Commissioner Ross Selman, and the Bank NA. Their commitment to the McAlester community and dedication to fostering memorable experiences for families during our Independence Celebration are deeply appreciated.
“First National Bank & Trust of McAlester has been a long-time sponsor of the McAlester fireworks display,” said Evans McBride, President & CEO of First National Bank & Trust Company of McAlester. “Our commitment to the citizens of McAlester and the surrounding communities remains strong, and we look forward to celebrating another spectacular Fourth of July with all of you.”
Sam Wampler, owner of Freedom Ford of McAlester and Eufaula, echoed McBride’s commitment to community.
“We are so proud to support the City of McAlester in organizing a fantastic event that brings together the community and celebrates our freedom and ability to do so,” Wampler said. “We believe in investing in our community and helping kids and families come together. This type of event just speaks to my heart. From kids and families to community and patriotism, I’m honored to be part of it. It’s part of the reason God put us here.”
This year’s fireworks show will begin shortly after dusk. Admission is free with ample parking available at the Southeast Expo Center. Food trucks will be on site before the show. For best viewing, The City of McAlester encourages residents and visitors to park on the Expo grounds.
“We’re extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors, in helping us ensure we are able to provide another great show for our community,” Sumner said. “We hope everyone joins us on July 4th as we celebrate our nation's freedom and the vibrant spirit that defines McAlester.”
