Senior Citizen Nutrition Program

McAlester’s Senior Citizen Nutrition Program offers donation-based hot meals to McAlester residents 60 and older each weekday. The meals are prepared at the Senior Citizen Center at the J.I. Stipe Center and are served to about 4,000 seniors each month at the J.I. Stipe Center, and are delivered to about 2,700 homebound residents each month.

Lunches are served at 11:30 a.m. Monday-Friday at the J.I. Stipe Center, 801 N. Ninth St.

Meals also get delivered through the homebound program to McAlester and Krebs. Residents at least 60 years old can complete an assessment to see if they qualify for the program.

A $2 donation is suggested for each meal.

24-hour advance notice is requested for those who wish to participate by calling Senior Center Manager Christina Barnhill at 918-715-3442.
