The City of McAlester is implementing walkability and bicycling systems throughout the city to provide alternative transportation, encourage active living, and support sustainable lifestyles.

Walking Trails
Walking trails and sidewalks in the city are available for recreational and transportation purposes.  Walking trails are available at numerous public parks including Will Rogers Park, William P. Mullen Park, Pete Rosso Park, Michael J. Hunter Park, and Rotary Park

Bicycle Lanes
New bicycle lanes are now available the entire length of East Monroe Avenue and College Avenue as well as 9th Street and Hardy Spring Road from South Avenue to the George Nigh Expressway. Additionally, the trail at Will Rogers Park is now a multi-use trail available for use by pedestrians and bicycles.
