Chadick Park
Located in the heart of McAlester, just a few blocks from downtown at Third Street and Chadick Avenue, this 10.2-acre community park is jammed-packed with amenities including an Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball Court, cornhole and horseshoe pits, a wading pool, restrooms, a large playground, four tennis courts, gazebo, a sprawling fully ADA compliant playground, water and electric, splash pad and two covered picnic pavilions.
This park contains several other McAlester attractions: The Coal Miners’ Memorial, honoring those who lost their lives while mining for coal in the area, The War Memorial, honoring local servicemen who perished from 20th and 21st century American wars. Also on the site area is the Boys and Girls Club, a Speaker of the House Carl Albert Memorial and God’s Little Angel Memorial, honoring those who died in the Oklahoma City bombing. Chadick Park is also home to the City of McAlester's Movies in the Park.
