Water Sources
Water Treatment Plant receives raw water primarily from Lake McAlester located approximately 2.5 miles north of the plant. The plant also can utilize raw water from Talawanda Lakes #1 and #2 located immediately south of the plant and Lake Eufaula located 4.5 miles northwest of plant.
Secondary Water Source
The City of McAlester is currently working to restore pump stations on a secondary water source to ensure redundancy in the water sources available for the citizens of McAlester.
