Foreign Trade Zones
Businesses that trade internationally can utilize a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) to receive special customs privileges. Foreign Trade Zones are considered to be outside of U.S. customs territory, allowing products that enter to be exempt from duties until they finally enter the U.S. market. In some cases, duties can be further lowered or eliminated through inverted tariff provisions.
