McAlester Honored with 31 Years as Tree City USA

The City of McAlester has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation – a distinction the city has enjoyed for 31 years!

 This recognition is given in honor of our city’s commitment to effective urban forest management. McAlester achieves this status through the McAlester Tree Board, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day event and proclamation.
