Fire Chief Brewer

Fire Chief
Brett Brewer
Chief Brewer serves as McAlester Fire Department’s Chief of operations. Chief Brewer entered the fire service in 1986 as a firefighter work his way through the ranks until he was promoted to Fire Chief in September of 2010. Chief Brewer is CLEET certified and a member of several professional organizations including the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Chief Brewer is also a Nationally Registered EMT-B. During his tenure Chief Brewer has received certification in Hazardous Material Technician and Fire Inspector I and II, level II Fire Instructor, National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command Systems (ICS). Chief Brewer serves on several boards including the Pittsburg County E911 board.

Assistant Chief Brooks

Assistant Fire Chief
Benny D Brooks
Benny Brooks serves as the McAlester Fire Department’s Assistant Fire Chief. Chief Brooks entered into service with the department as a firefighter in August of 2003, worked his way through the ranks and was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in July of 2019. Chief Brooks serves as the departments EMS Director for the EMS division. Chief Brooks has a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety & Health and has certifications in FireFighter I&II, Fire Officer I&II, Fire Instructor I&II, Hazardous Materials Technician and is a Nationally Registered EMT-B. He is also a member of several organizations including the Oklahoma Fire Chiefs Association (OFCA) and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC).
