She has already worked closely with members of the private sector involved with local projects in various stages, ranging from a manufacturing plant set to open in October 2023 to large companies starting to seek opportunities in McAlester.

Mervine’s background includes a unique skill set and experience in tourism and economic development with a passion for both. Mervine brings a background as the former Tourism Manager in Roswell, New Mexico where she demonstrated a forward-thinking approach to elevate the city's tourism brand.
