City seeks citizen input on potential Electric Avenue multi-modal project

EA1
The City of McAlester is working on improving Electric Avenue from A Street to Strong Boulevard in McAlester.

Even though past attempts to get federal funds for safety and making it better for walking, biking, and electric vehicles didn't pan out, we will be taking a new approach — we're going for a planning grant to refine what's needed in light of evolving competitive grant requirements.

A planning grant award will help us talk to experts, check what the community needs, create new designs and estimate a reasonable cost. Conducting a survey is the first step in getting the planning grant.

The survey is a chance for you to share your thoughts. All answers will be anonymous and only used to understand what citizens want.

Whether you live near Electric Avenue or not, your input matters because we all use this road, after all, Electric Avenue is the most frequently traveled city street with an average daily traffic count of 7,200 vehicles. Please take a moment to complete the survey and make a difference.
